I really like the "dashboard" with clear instructions of what all of the handles and levers are for. This is great to have in front of you at all times, to prevent confusion.
This machine is so much quieter than snowblowers we have had in the past. I was very pleased that I was not waking up the kids before our driveway was finished.
As for actual snowblowing- quick, easy and a very clean path was made. With a 28" inch spread, the amount of snow cleared is amazing. We had roughly 8-11inches in our most recent snowfall and it was very wet and heavy, but was cleared with no issues. Turning the chute is very simple, as is controlling all of the settings. I highly recommend reading the manual in regards to settings prior to use, as they are very well explained.
Bought this unit when my wife was in hospital and needed something to do the 300 foot driveway quickly. It has never let me down. Great machine.
I have had the Troy snow blower for several years now. I have a truck plow that is too big to get around the tight places where the snow loves to blow in and make huge drifts.. Before I bought the Troy machine I had to shovel it out buy had.. Now it only takes a short while to clean out this hard to clean up area. I generally get going and end up doing the entire driveway with the snow blower while the plow sits in the garage... Good exercise for an old guy.. Wouldn't be without the machine..
I didn't want to write a review until I had some snow-time in, sometimes I read a review and the person has not even used it yet, but they like the look of it...
I'm very happy with this snowblower, Starts easy never even have to use the electric starter ! Runs great, smooth and quiet ! Throws snow far, in the right conditions "cold dry snow" 40 feet or so ! warm wet snow around 20 feet which is good I've had snowblowers throw warm wet snow only 5 feet. The no flat tires are great but they would be even better if the were a little bit softer. The light works good but the shoot blocks some of the light which doesn't matter in daylight and at night I use a clip on hat light "works great". The model I have does not come with heated hand grips but you can order these extra if you wanted them, they are nice to have when temp gets down around zero F
Overall this is a nice machine and I have pushed it to its limits with Deep snow, Wet snow, and "previously wet refrozen crusty hard snow" still works great !
Troy Bilt make great snowblowers. They power
through any type of snow.
