Very powerful. Cut through high grass like nothing. Blows grass out very well no getting hung in mower. Very comfortable ride. Mowed 3-4 acres on a tank of gas. Impressive.
I like to get some use on an item before writing a review. After 15 hours on the Z2, i can say it is light years ahead of the RZ50 i traded in. (The RZ had 750 hours on it, and the dealer still gave me $1000 tradein, which I thought was very fair).
The Z2 feels much more solid, and rides a lot smoother. The wider rubber is nice, helps the ride, and is easy on the lawn. Engine starts at the touch of the key.
I read all available reviews prior to purchase, and feel compelled to comment where my experience has been different. The ride: unless you are comparing to a very high-end commercial machine with suspension (at twice the price), i dont think you are going to find a better ride.
Headlights: one review was critical of the headlights. I havent tried to mow at midnight, but i can tell you they make a difference when you are fighting to get that last bit of yard finished at the end of the day. I am pleased with the lights.
In one review it was stated that you could successfully take off mowing across a high field. Not true....you can cut higher grass, but it is a lawn mower, not a brush hog.
My bottom line: i would the exact same purchase over again.
First mow with the ZT2/54 my cut time was down to 1.3 hours. Bigger tires made the ride smoother (higher mowing speed), 8" more cut width, and zero turn agility are all to thank for the drastically reduced mowing time.
I really like both of these machines, it was just time to upgrade for our new home.
I bought the ZT2-54 when a relocated to my new home. I have been extremely pleased with the operation of the machine. It starts right up, moves when and how I want it to and is a comfortable ride. The machine has a nice, even cut. I like the open design which is very conducive to clean up, inspection and maintenance.
The one area of improvement I would like to see is the availability of accessories. None of my local retailers, both private own and chains, carry accessories for the ZT2-54. I would have to order the parts, sight unseen, and hope they met my expectations. I haven't been able to purchase the triple bagger or the mulching kit due to lack of product availability and back order.
