Lots of power works great for Buffalo snow. Highly recommend.
First off, I spent a lot of time researching a lot of makes and models of snow blowers. top and low end of the spectrum. I live in upstate NY east of Lake Ontario (lake effect snow) and have a 700' plus driveway. I want something that can take the abuse I plan to put it through and be ready to take it again and again. Everything on it, engine power, drivetrain, physical construction is built to last. to name a few: steel gears and chain drive, large serrated auger to breakup and aerate snow,
(not stamped discs) larger 14" impeller with "no-clog" system, 32" wide intake made from high strength tensile steel instead of high carbon steel (standard), heated drips, one handed extended steel 3-point articulating shoot with a throw range of 56'.
Lots of power, went through a foot of snow with no issue
My new Toro has not yet seen any use in snow. In preparing for this coming winter, I familiarized myself with its proper operation and maintenance before starting it up. Upon starting the engine, fuel began immediately pouring out the breather tube - not dripping, but pouring. I suspected a stuck carb float, but resisted the urge to diy repair, given that it’s under warranty and is brand new. I contacted a local authorized Toro shop and agreed to pay their $30 pick up and delivery fee that is not covered under the warranty. Their driver arrived with a flat bed, but before loading the machine, we decided to try starting it so that he could see the problem firsthand. He fired it up and it ran perfectly, with no sign of any problem at all. We agreed that there was no need for him to take the machine, so he left without it. The shop invoiced me for the $30 p&d, but also added another $30 for labor, and $10 for supplies. The folks at the shop are very nice, but I’m still on the hook for $70 that Toro really ought to help out with, considering that the product is brand new and unused. I’m a bit disappointed with that.
The machine looks great, and I have no reason to doubt that it will meet and exceed my expectations.
Very well built machine. Powers through the snow as advertised
This thing is AWESOME! Starts easily, light works great. Blows snow like nobody's business. Joy stick shoot control is incredible
Used the Blower today for the first time . Only had 2 inches of snow but wanted to try it out . Plenty of power actually pretty quiet as well
Only had a 4 inch snow storm since purchases. So l clear the front lawn. All work perfectly.
love the machine, blows like crazy. i like the chute because i can put the snow in the trees or at the fence line.
It’s a great snowblower. My only annoyance is that I have had to have the auger level machined twice since it arrived because it was out of tolerances from the factory. Everything else seems to be great - but I live in a place where the toro dealer doesn’t do residential service. So my $2.5k snowblower had to come with $300 ramps because I had no way to get it serviced after purchase without them.
12 inches no problem .Buy it Toro is the best made hands down .I owned many other top brands believe me !
Quality machine, starts on the first pull. I live in the northeast, bought this snowblower on the last week of January and we haven't had 1" of snow and it is now March 12th. Can't wait to test it out, might have to wait till next winter.
Great snowblower, throws the snow out very far and has a lot of power!
Tremendous power. Surprisingly easy to maneuver given the weight. Trigger steering is effortless. Toro listens to their customers and makes small improvements, overtime, thinner, wheels, and metal shoot and upright crank case oil fill or some small examples. Would recommend.
The Toro snowthrower I purchased from Home Depot was and continues to be a most outstanding machine! It shows in every detail as a quality device made in the USA! The only problem I had was uncrating the machine as the wheels were loose and the drive shafts were attempting to come out of the body of the machine. Upon closer examination I discovered the two allen head bolts and lock nuts were left in the bottom of the unit on the lower access panel. After installing the bolts, the machine performed as expected. I noticed the grease for the sprockets and chains was not contacting the area needed. I redistributed the grease. I love it when you put gas in a engine and it starts on the first attempt! I love the quality and would advise anyone in the market for a snow thrower buy this unit!
I have a long drive that occasionally drifts closed with snow. My quad with plow blade cant always clear the drifts. With this Toro Snow Blower, the troublesome drifts are no longer a problem. I am very happy with this tool. Electric start works great.
This is a beast. It worked flawlessly. This is my first snowblower and I am 70 years old. I had no difficulty learning to use it.
The snow blower has plenty of power and operated fantasticly!
Heavy machine that does the job we needed.
It needs a high altitude carburetor jet installed that seems tough to do. Augur really gums up in our Sierra cement. DuPont Snow & Ice did not help with clogging. Unpacking and set-up was tedious but worked. Electric start is a must on big motor.
Great mower, no issues —-highly recommend to anyone. except changing oil….hard to,do,with out getting old oil all over the plate. Cleaning up the old oil is hard to get at.
Snow removal is now a breeze with the ability to clear and throw the snow anywhere I choose.
Excellent snow blower that can handle large amounts of snow with ease. No complaints yet. Thanks again for making a quality product.
