Bought this unit approximately 4 years ago. We don’t get a lot of snow in Louisville, but when it does, this Toro is ready for the job! I will do our driveway and 5 other neighbors in no time. It’s self propelled technology works great, no fatigue at all. I’d recommend it 100%! More than paid for itself many times over. Be sure to use only non-Alcohol fuel. It will save the carburetor.
5 stars all the way….
Been using the 721 and 821 for 3 years now commercially. We got hit with 60cm of snow here in the GTA, and crews couldn't get out to clear. This blower saw 21 hours of continuous usage through a minimum of 1ft, average of 1.5 and peak of 5ft of snow, and it ate through it all like a champ with no complaints. Always starts first pull with near zero effort. One machine has a dirty carb (user issue) and it still starts first pull and throws with near full power while surging, and operated under the same conditions for the same period of time.
Overall use on this storm was worth about 4-5 tanks of fuel for 2 blowers on one crew. It throws the snow 20+ feet without issue, the chute is very easy to control and never ices up no matter conditions. Very lightweight and can easily be lifted into a trailer, platform rack or truck bed. Best single stage around.
Very powerful for a single stage
I did not mind that the shoot was manual
We had 5 big snow storms in February here in my area (Long Island NY) and this unit cleared it with no problem
It also does not clog and never stalled
The power it had felt very confident
The unit is very straight forward
I did not mind that it did not have an electric start
I am very happy w this unit and i highly recommend it
Bought for our HOA (26 units, each with four- to six-car driveway, other walkways and paths). Only two hours of use so far, it clears wet/frozen snow and ice (it breezes through unpacked snow without flinching); hope to catch next snow storm earlier before it gets packed by foot and tire prints. Clearing to the pavement was a priority, and this one does that awesomely.
Seems to be require very little maintenance, not much to adjust, easy to use, small enough to clear snow from unoccupied spots in parking lot left uncleared by big snow plows earlier in the day. I was pleased I could adjust the deflector chute to just drop the snow in front, or to the side, of the snow blower to avoid hitting parked vehicles on either side. When needed, it seemed to throw at least 30 to 40 feet.
I plan to update this (if needed) after next big storm; I can't really rate it for overall dependability and quality until then, but what I've experienced so far makes me feel this is all around Excellent.
A great little blower with enough power to do most jobs. The only downside is snow builds up on the wheels causing scaping problems.
The Toro Power Clear 821 R-C is an absolute beast. I have a Power Max 1028 and I never expected the 821 to keep up but it does. It cleans and throws better than I ever expected. 1st use was 7 inches of snow and it cleared with no bog down, throwing the snow with ease. The only drawback is manual adjustment of the chute. BUT, that also means less moving parts, less maintenance, no cables to worry about and less down time. Highly recommended.
Downsized from a larger 2 stage due to a lack of space in the garage. The difference in the footprint is significant. We finally got a decent amount of snow (about 5”) and this thing literally rips through it like it’s not there. It’s so easy to start, you barely pull the cable and it immediately fires up. It also does a great job of getting down to the concrete and ever cleaning up compacted snow from being driven on.
Bought this anticipating a snowy winter in Michigan and hoping the reliability of Toro would come through where others have failed. Absent a weird battery issue, this lite and quiet blower has been awesome.
Have owned now for 2 yrs. 2022 just got done clearing 20 in of buffalo NY snow .This blower never stalled once with snow load even at end of driveway with 30 in of snow from plows !
This is a great snow thrower !!! The shoot control was well worth the price . So easy to control were you put snow on the fly ! Toro has hit a home run again with this design . I have owned Toro single stage snow blowers for more than 15 yrs and they only keep getting better !!! My neighbors are amazed at the way they throw snow and clear down to driveway .Makes easy of difficult work . I always recommend these products to friends and family . Do yourself a favor and get yourself one and you wont be sorry .
Unfortunately it hasn't snowed yet but I know I'll love my new Toro Snow Blower because my next door neighbor has the exact model and I used it last year and loved it. Looking forward to a good snow storm to test it out!
I can rate it on ease of assembly and the look and feel of the quality of the blower. Unpacked it assembled it and filled it with oil and gas. Pushed the primer a few time and started right up on the 3rd pull. Went out the next day and pushed the primer 2times and it started on the 1st pull. This is the first time I've ever wished for snow, can't wait to give it a whirl then I can write another full review. Very nice machine!
I bought this Power Clear because I used my neighbor's last year and loved it. It starts easily and handles a pretty deep snow storm. It cleans right down to the pavement. Remarkable machine.
Love this little blower! Definitely glad I have this for those under 6" storms. Can grab it with no ramps from the pickup and it always starts right up.
I recently purchased this snow blower and it was relatively easy to assemble because there was minimal parts that needed to be attached.
I have not actually used it yet because it hasn’t snowed. I feel comfortable it will perform adequately.
This snow blower is a beast. Highly recommended! First use was with 7” of snow and it went through it like a hot knife through butter. No bog down at all. Cleans to the concrete and throws the snow with force. The way it pulls you through the snow makes it effortless. I use it commercially and I’m glad I added it to my business.
Great Machine, but unfortunately, the unit comes with plastic Lawn Boy mower wheels instead of solid rubber wheels equipped for snow. Snow sticks to the wheels up to an inch thick causing the machine to feel like it's bumping over rocks also affecting smooth scraper blade movement. Worse, the wheels actually skid because of snow clumps. Annoying and disappointing. I had to replace them with aftermarket rubber rimmed wheels similar to what previous Toro snowblowers had. Please see photos.

Second Toro I’ve owned and it works fantastic! I won’t purchase any other brand!!
Was a little skeptical about the machine but it was VERY POWERFUL and very pleased with the power and performance.
First time buying single stage. So many choices. Heard pretty good reviews on the 721. Hundred bucks more, went with the 821 for some small commercial walkways. It throws great and cleans sidewalks the way you want it. I really like it. Have to have a little muscle to carry around 90lbs. Working on a hitch for a cargo carrier to compliment the purchase. Only used a few times but very impressed and I can't wait to use again.
Operates as advertised. No problems moving snow as far as you want. If you’re thinking about a snowblower. This is the one. Highly recommend.
I haven’t had snow yet I live in New Jersey but I had another one similar to that one to Toro for 18+ years I’ve never let me down
This machine is great for all concrete surfaces. Plenty of power & easy to start. The snow chute is easy to adjust & throws the snow about 30 feet. Best for 4-8" of snow & does well with a few more inches!
